Detached ADU:
• "ADU Addition": Converting existing detached unconditioned structure to ADU [ garage to ADU conversion, work shop to ADU conversion, pool house to ADU conversion]
• "Newly constructed ADU ": Newly constructed building, No shared common wall or adjacent ceiling/floor

Detached ADU facts:
• NO solar PV requirements for ADU additions
• existing walls and extensions of existing walls excepted from rigid insulation requirements if insulation r15 or more proposed
• All ADU /as new dwelling units/ must meet IAQ [ Indoor Air Quality] ventilation
requirements regardless of size. No exceptions.
Detached ADU "addition" examples:
• Converting an existing detached unconditioned pool house to an ADU
• Converting an existing detached unconditioned work shop or garage to an ADU
"New" ADU examples:

Demolishing existing detached unconditioned work shop or garage and build new ADU building
• Newly constructed building
